Wayne Dalton (Atlanta, Ga) is well known for their garage doors but they are also aggressively developing home automation products based on ZWave technology and available, for example, at Fry’s Electronics. These projects are examples of my embedded development work:
- USB firmware for Wayne Dalton’s USB To Z-Wave Adapter
(http://www.wayne-dalton.com/access/access_controllers.asp) The code targeted a Silicon Labs C8051F326 embedded processor and was developed with the Keil tool chain. The project also included Windows desktop applications (in C#) to provide field updates for the device firmware. This product is currently being sold by Leviton, Monster Cable, Cooper Tools, Intermatic and others. - Porting and optimizing 3D geometry algorithms from C++ to Microchip PIC C18 for a product now entering user testing.
